Lists of frequently asked questions

When the firewall displays a message, it is notifying you that some program is trying to connect to the network (or, vice versa, is trying to connect to your system from the network). And it prompts you to decide what to do — to allow access or to block access.

In this case, you need to look at what program has been specified in this message, and if you recognise it, click on "Create rule" — “Allow all”.

To solve the network access problem:

  1. Right-click on the Dr.Web icon in the system tray.
  2. Click on the padlock icon and then on the gear icon (“Settings”).
  3. Select “Protection components” and then “Firewall”.
  4. In the tab, find the “Applications” header and the option “Application rules” below it. Click on “Change”.
  5. You will see a list of applications for which rules already exist. Find the ones with a red circle in front of them — your browser will most likely (but not definitely) be included in this list. Click twice on the red icon, and select “Allow all”.

To reset all the anti-virus settings (including the firewall’s):

  1. Right-click on the Dr.Web icon in the system tray.
  2. Click on the padlock icon and then on the gear icon (“Settings”).
  3. In the open tab, click the “Change” button; then click on “Reset settings”, and tap “OK” to confirm your choice.
  4. After the reset, the interface language will change to English, so you need to change it back to Russian. Click on “Main”, “Advanced”, and in the “Language” section, click on “English”. Select Russian from the list, and close the window.

You can also delete the Firewall. To do this, open the Control Panel, and then — “Add and Remove Programs”.

Folder names may vary for different versions of Windows and different viewing modes.

Find “Dr.Web Security Space” in the list, and click on “Change” → “Change components”. Then clear the checkbox next to the Firewall, and click on “Apply”. The component will be removed.

If the steps indicated above have not solved the problem, please contact our technical support service.
