Checking if your system is Dr.Web Security Space 10 ready

Make sure that Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista is installed: Proceed with the following steps:

  1. Click the Start button and right click on My Computer.
  2. In the drop-down menu select Properties. The System Properties window will open.
  3. If the service pack 2 has been installed, you will see the string 'Service Pack 2'.

  4. If the service pack is not present in the system, you will need to download it from Microsoft site and install it. [Download]. Before you proceed with service pack installation, you need to remove Dr.Web anti-virus for Windows (for more information, please,refer to the section Uninstalling Dr.Web anti-virus for Windows).

Obtaining the Dr.Web Security Space 10 distribution

  1. If you have a valid or expired Dr.Web Anti-virus license, purchase Dr.Web Security Space at a renewal discount.
  2. Go to the Download Wizard page.
    1. In the Dr.Web serial number field, enter your Dr.Web Security Space serial number.
    2. In the field The email that was used to register the license enter the email address associated with your serial number.
    3. Click on the Send button.
  3. In the Workstations section on the next page, select MS Windows 2000 SP4 + Rollup 1/XP/Vista/7/8 (32 bit) or MS Windows 2000 SP4 + Rollup 1/XP/Vista/7/8 (64 bit), and press Send.
  4. On the next page, click Download.

Removing Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows

Before installing Dr.Web Security Space 10, you need to remove Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows. Proceed with the following steps:

  1. Go to →Control panel→Programs-Programs and Features.
  2. Find Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows on the list; select it, and press Remove.
  3. In the Dr.Web removal dialogue, click Next.
  4. Enter the CAPTCHA code and choose to uninstall the application.
  5. Please wait for the uninstallation to complete and reboot the computer.

Installing Dr.Web Security Space 10

If the computer is connected to the Internet

  1. If you are installing Dr.Web under an account with administrator privileges, double-click on the Dr.Web Security Space 1 distribution file. Otherwise, right-click on the downloaded file and in the drop-down menu select Run as… Select The following user and on the User list select an account with administrative privileges. If necessary, enter the password for this account in the password field and press OK.
  2. In the subsequent window. check I accept the terms of the License Agreement, and press Next until you reach the Dr.Web Cloud dialogue window. It is recommended that you choose the option I want to connect to services.
  3. Press Next.
  4. In the Registration Wizard, select the option Receive license during installation, and click Next.
  5. Press Install.
  6. During installation, the Registration Wizard dialogue will be displayed.
    1. Click Activate License.
    2. Enter the serial number and click Next.
  7. Please wait for the Dr.Web installation to complete, and reboot the computer.

If the computer is not connected to the Internet

You can activate your serial number in the registration section of Doctor Web's site. After activating your serial number, you will receive the key file needed for Dr.Web Security Space 10 to operate. For this, you will need to access the Internet from any computer.

  1. Goto the registration page.
  2. Click Start registration procedure.
  3. Enter the serial number and click Continue.
  4. Check the box I accept the terms of the license agreement, and click Continue registration.
  5. Fill out the registration form, and click Register.
  6. Download the license key file (the file is packed in a ZIP archive). A copy of the file will be sent to the email address you specified during registration.
  7. Extract the license key file from the archive. Double-click on the archive to open it. After that, simply drag the key file into any folder or onto the desktop.

  8. If you are installing Dr.Web under an account with administrator privileges, double-click on the Dr.Web Security Space 10 distribution file. Otherwise, right-click on the downloaded file and in the drop-down menu select Run as… Select The following user and on the User list select an account with administrative privileges. If necessary, enter the password for this account in the password field and press OK.
  9. In the subsequent window select I accept the terms of the License Agreement, and press Next until you reach the Dr.Web Cloud dialogue window. Select the option I will decide later, and click Next.
  10. In the Registration Wizard dialogue, select the option Specify path to an available, valid key file.
  11. Click Browse, and specify the key file's location.
  12. Press Install.
  13. Please wait for the Dr.Web installation to complete, and reboot the computer.

Removing the old license

Information about your old license will not be deleted when you uninstall Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows, so you need to remove it. Proceed with the following steps:

  1. Click on the Dr.Web agent icon in the system tray.
  2. In the drop-down menu select Tools.
  3. Select License Manager.
  4. In the Current License drop-down list, select the old license and click Remove.
  5. Make sure that the relevant license is selected on the current license list.
  6. Close the License Manager.
