What is the difference between Dr.Web demo-version and license version?
The only difference is the term of usage. The Dr.Web developers think that any limitations in functioning of the anti-virus will not let a user gain an authentic view of the program and decide in favor of the Dr.Web Anti-virus.

Can I try Dr.Web before buying it and how can I do it?
Of course, any user wishing to buy the anti-virus program must have an option to try it before buying. Any user can try Dr.Web once in 4 months. The great advantage of the Dr.Web demo-versions is that they are full-functional, i.e. they have no limitations in detecting or curing, except for time of their usage. If you have a computer at home and your operating system is Windows, to try Dr.Web you should simply download the distribution from the Download section of our web-site and register this copy of the program. For this, during the registration, you should have active Internet connection. Follow the registration procedure and select "Get demo key file". A short-term demo key for 30 days will be automatically downloaded and installed in your computer.
To try our versions for file and mail servers, Internet gateways and workstations, a user should visit the demo key request page and fill out a sepcial web-form.

I want to try your anti-virus before to buy it. On the demo key request page it is written that demo-keys are generated for corporate users only. But you have no demo key request page for home users. What should I do?
If you want to try a demo version of Dr.Web for Windows, you should only download the distribution kit of the program. During the downloading, a key file will be downloaded into your computer, too. You should neither fill in a demo key request web-form, nor install a key file - everything will be done automatically.

It means your demo term has expired. To avoid such messages appearing after every system startup, you should either uninstall the anti-virus or purchase a commercial license and register it.

I like your program and I am going to continue using it. Should I uninstall Dr.Web demo-version from my computer and then install a license version?
You should not uninstall Dr.Web from your computer. To convert demo version into license version, you should purchase a license and register it. For this, right click with the mouse the icon of a spider in the system tray (right bottom corner of the computer screen). Choose the “Register” item of the contextual menu. You should be connected to the Internet during the registration. Follow the registration procedure and choose “Get license key file” the key file will be automatically downloaded and installed in your computer.

How do I renew a demo-key with a renewal discount?
There are no renewal discounts for users of demo-versions. Only registered users who have purchased a license for 6 months, 1 or 2 years can receive a discount for renewal. Read more about renewal discounts here.
